North Estonia Manor tour
North Estonia Manor tour gives you a unique chance to visit four manor pearls in one day. You will see: Maardu Manor, Palmse Manor, Sagadi Manor and Kalvi Manor.
First point of North Estonia Manor tour is one of the oldest and most valuable fully completed manor ensembles in Harju County - Maardu Manor. The construction history of Maardu Manor dates back to some three hundred years. The most well-known of the former owners of the Maardu manor is general Hermann Jensen von Bohn, who helped finance the publication of the first Estonian-language Bible in 1739. Going further to the North of Estonia we visit one of the most prominent and grand baroque manor buildings in Estonia - Palmse Manor. It is the first fully restored manor in Estonia. Palmse Manor is surrounded by the beautiful nature of Lahemaa National Park. Today there is an exposition on Estonian manor life and architecture throughout centuries.
Next stop of our North Estonia Manor tour is Sagadi Manor. The first written record of the Sagadi manorial estate dates back to 1469. The architectural jewel in the crown of the Sagadi estate is neoclassical manor house dating from the 18th century. The exterior and interior of the building have decorative elements from both the baroque and neoclassical architectural styles. The furniture dates for the most part from the 18th to the early 20th century. The manorial architecture and the interior reflect the same era.
For the lunch and a closing sight of North Estonia Manor tour we stop at Kalvi Manor. Present Kalvi Manor historical building that reminds English knight castle in Tudor style was built on 1913, being on of the later Estonian manorial houses. Walking in nice manor park between fountains and ponds you can feel yourself true master or mistress of the manor.
With new impressions we return to Tallinn where optionally Kadriorg Palace visit is offered.
